Our Story

Built on Experience. Built on Trust.

Covenant Construction Group grew out of a simple belief: if you tell someone you’re going to do something, you do it—and you do it right.

I’m Seth Smallwood. Before becoming a general contractor, I spent 23 years in the Army. Leadership in the military taught me that taking care of people isn’t separate from accomplishing the mission—it’s part of how you accomplish it.

You take care of your soldiers and their families, you hold yourself accountable, and you make sure the people depending on you know they can count on you.

I carried that same philosophy into my next chapter, building an Amazon delivery company from the ground up. As the workforce fluctuated and grew to as many as 130 employees, the responsibility grew with it.

Those weren’t just employee numbers. They were people and families depending on us to build a strong company, create opportunities, and deliver on the promises we made to our customers.

Construction may be a different industry, but I don’t see the responsibility any differently.

Government & Public SectorPublic clients need schedule, specification, and accountability.

Whether a family trusts Covenant to build their home, a business owner brings us in for a commercial project, or a public-sector client depends on us to deliver work on schedule and to specification, the principle is the same: someone is trusting us with something important. We take that responsibility seriously.

I also work alongside my wife, DeeDee, a licensed real estate broker. For our residential clients in particular, that combination of construction and real estate experience means we can help from the earliest conversations about a property or new home, through construction, and ultimately to the closing table.

Our Residential Philosophy

Attainable Luxury

To us, Attainable Luxury isn’t about making a home expensive just for the sake of being expensive. It’s about being thoughtful about where the money goes—better finishes, generous spaces, practical layouts, and the details that make a home feel special when you walk through the door.

We want to build homes that look and feel like more than their price point suggests—homes designed around how people actually live, without losing sight of what families in our community can realistically afford.

We do what we say we’re going to do. We take care of people. And we stand behind our work.

That’s what Covenant means to us.

It’s in our name because it’s the commitment we make to every client who gives us the opportunity to build for them.
